Protests break out in some parts of Nigeria

Protests have begun in some parts of Nigeria.

Confiance News gathered from several posts on X (formerly known as Twitter).

In Sango Ota, a town in Ogun State, southwestern Nigeria. Most people took to the streets and roads to protest risingĀ  food prices.

Moreover, in Minna, Niger State, Northern Nigeria, traders and citizens protested high food prices. However, the protest led to the arrest of a woman Aisha Jubrin and 24 others.

An incident that has caused stir on social media, as netizens frowned at the infringement of the rights of the detained and called for their release.

Posts with the hashtag #freeaishajubrin has been trending on X, as part of efforts to ensure that they are released.
