The United States President, Donald Trump has ordered the reopening of religious centres across the country, adding that they are a part of essential services in the fight against the COVID-19.

Confiance News gathered from White House Facebook page on Sunday.

Trump warned that he would use his executive powers on any governor who fails to heed the instruction.

“The governors need to do the right thing and allow these very important essential places of faith to open right now, for this weekend.

“If they don’t do it, I will override the governors. In America, we need more prayer, not less.”

He gave the order on Friday, at a press briefing in the White House.

Trump said that the decision was critical because “the people are demanding to go to churches, synagogues and go to their mosques; many millions of Americans embrace worship as an essential part of life.”

He added that the ministers, pastors, rabbis, imams, faith leaders would make sure that their congregations are safe as they gather and pray.

“I know them well, they love their Congregations, they love their people and they don’t want anything bad to happen to them or to anybody else,” he added.
