On September 12, 2025, at Muri Okunola Park in Lagos, Nigerian chef Hilda Baci will attempt to cook the world’s largest pot of jollof rice, a Guinness World Record challenge in partnership with seasoning brand Gino.

Confiance News gathered from a trending ad featuring her on X.

Using a massive six-meter-wide, six-meter-tall pot, Baci aims to celebrate Nigerian culture and cuisine, building on her 2023 record for the longest cooking marathon (93 hours and 11 minutes). This ambitious project, part of the Gino World Jollof Festival, is more than a culinary feat—it’s a cultural celebration of West African heritage, uniting communities through food, music, and shared identity.

Hilda Baci’s pursuit is driven by a vision she conceived two years ago to showcase Nigerian jollof rice on a global stage.

“This year, it’s jollof, the heartbeat of West Africa. A taste that tells our story. It’s more than cooking; it’s a celebration of our food, our culture, music, and us,” she shared on Instagram.

Confiance News gathered that the event, which is free to the public, aims to foster community and highlight the communal joy of sharing meals, aligning with values of connection and generosity.
