Being prosperous and flourishing comes at a cost.

Confiance News gathered from the Provincial Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Bola Odutola on Sunday.

He noted that there are conditions to be fulfilled for one to be fruitful.

Reading from the book of Psalm 1:1-3 in the scriptures, he said that a Christian is expected to meet the conditions in verses 1 and 2, to be able to get the benefits of verse 3.

Confiance News learnt that Psalm 1:1 in the King James Version (KJV) ‭of the bible states:”‭‭Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”

Pastor Odutola noted that to be prosperous, a christian is expected to fulfill the above conditions.

Continuing, the provincial pastor added that fulfilling Psalm 1:2 is critical in achieving a fruitful life.

Psalm 1:2 (KJV) Says: “But his delight is in the law of the LORD; And in his law doth he meditate day and night.”

He noted that after fulfilling the above conditions, the christian will then be entitled to the benefits highlighted in verse 3 of the same chapter.

Confiance News gathered that Psalm 1:3 states: “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

Reacting to the result of fulfilling the conditions, the pastor said: “For those that have obeyed verses 1 and 2, verse 3 will naturally click in. You don’t need prayers because there are forces that naturally will allow it to happen.”

“God will grant you and I the grace to operate in that verse 3.
Nothing missing; everything complete.

1 and 2 must have been implemented to some degrees. I didn’t say it is to 100% degree,” he noted.

The Provincial Pastor citing the book Ecclesiastes 12:13, he noted that duty of man is summarised into two— to fear God and keep his commandments.

He said: “My prayer is that you should draw close to God. Because you will always need God, especially, in your later years.

You have just one duty: Ecclesiastes 12:13(KJV).”
