The ex-husband of Nigeria’s former petroleum minister, Alison Madueke has filed a petition against Diezani, Nigeria’s former petroleum minister, in the Lagos State High court.

Confiance News gathered from a Daily Post report on Tuesday.

According to the report, Alison Madueke wants his ex-wife who filed a divorce petition against him in November 2021, which subsequently led to the dissolution of the marriage in April 2022 to stop using his surname but stick to her own surname, which is Agama.

Confiance News learns that one the reasons for asking the court to restrain her from using his surname is because he has suffered so much embarrassment.

The former petroleum minister’s use of his surname has caused misleading impressions for him.

It tarnishes the reputation, integrity, and public image of the Mr Madueke.

Confiance News recalls that Diezani allegedly embezzled $2.5 billion while she was the petroleum minister and is currently facing in Nigeria and the United Kingdom in that regard.

During her tenure she became the first female President of the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in November 2014.

The petitioner, Mr. Madueke, was the former Chief of Naval staff and also the ex-military governor of Imo and Anambra states.
