Walking in God’s will does not make you immune to storms.

The Parish Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Tunji Adeyinka, disclosed to Confiance News during a sermon on Sunday.

He said, “When God orders you to do something you may still have a storm on your way. It does not mean that Jesus Christ is not with you.”

Reading from the book of Mark 4:35-41 in the bible, he recounted how the disciples of Jesus Christ were faced with a storm and the panic that ensued.

Reacting to verse 38 that read,”… Master carest thou not that we perish.” Pastor Adeyinka said, “The greatest blasphemy in the life of a Christian is to say that God is not with you.”

He said that the weapon of God is his word.

“It is not about how many words you whisper to the storm, it is about the authority behind that word,” he said.

Citing the book of Romans 4:18-21, he said: “When you are in the direction of what he wants you to do, you need conviction.”

Citing the book of Hebrews 6:13, he said: “When God issues a word, the conviction you have in his word allows you to stand alone.”

Pastor Adeyinka said that there were several reasons why Jesus did not stop the storm immediately.

He said, “It was not like he was not sure of his authority in that storm.
God intentionally takes us through storms; growth takes place in the place of discomfort.”

“There are certain things you cannot acquire in life if you don’t go through storms,” he continued.

He added that storms do not last forever.

“No matter the storm that you have been through, God’s wisdom is about to set in. The owner of the storm will still the storm,” he prayed.
