Man spends an average 9.9 years on the phone in his lifetime.

Confiance News gathered from the Provincial Pastor of Solid Rock parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Bola Odutola, in one of his recent sermons.

“In a life time, you will use 9.9 years on the phone. A third to sleep and you use 5.5 years to be in traffic, what time remains then?” he disclosed.

Odutola noted that the phone has become a huge distraction in the lives of men.

The clergyman stated that it was for this reason that the inventor of the mobile phone, Martin Kupa, regretted his invention.

“Martin Kupa, regretted inventing the phone. He never knew that people will be so tied down to it as it wasn’t his intention for inventing it. He lamented the invention,” Odutola said.

In the same vein, the pastor said that the Nobel Prize, Alfred Noble, regretted inventing TNS.

The clergyman said, “He invented it for cracking rock. But man turned it to a weapon of war. He had to channel his money to humanity after regretting this invention.”

The Provincial Pastor pointed that people spend more time on their phone than on the study of the word of God.

“It’s almost impossible for a lot of people to read the bible because the phone is so much a distraction and has become an idol that people can wait to read anything no matter how lengthy but not the bible,” he frowned.

He, however, advised people to spend more time with God because it opens doors of success.

“Any time you have time for GOD and are fully concentrated in Him, a new life begins for you, you will be successful. You have succeeded,” he advised.
