Reiterating the imperative of trust in the business of banking, the Association of Corporate Affairs Managers of Banks (ACAMB) has agreed to collaborate with stakeholders in the industry to reinforce it.
Confiance News gathered from speakers and panelists at ACAMB’s third Annual Stakeholders Conference held in Lagos on Thursday.
Speaking on the theme: “Building Bridges: Collaborative Solutions for a Trusted Banking and Financial Services Experience”, the President of ACAMB, Rasheed Bolarinwa, acknowledged the role of the association in reinforcing trust and understanding among customers and other stakeholders in the industry.
“We aim to educate consumers and foster their ability to make well-informed decisions about banking and financial services. By creating a platform for open and constructive dialogue among consumers, regulatory bodies, the media, and financial institutions, ACAMB strives to build mutual understanding and trust,” he said.
Highlighting the importance of trust in the industry, Consumer Solutions Strategist and Advisor at KPMG, Wale Abioye, stated that “trust” is the new currency in the digital world, which is built through transparency, authenticity and integrity.
Abioye noted that trust has four pillars— transparency, authenticity, credibility and responsiveness which if adopted by banks will impact customer experience positively.
Corroborating, the president of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), Prof. Olanrewaju Oladeji, acknowledged the need to promote the culture of trust among bankers and other stakeholders.
“Indeed, a closely knit collaboration between bankers and the distinguished professionals represented in this room has the potential to significantly shape the banking industry, by deepening the culture of trust, upon which customer loyalty, investor confidence, and the overall stability of our financial system rests,” he harped.
